Important
Note: Beta versions
contain new features and functions that have not yet been as fully
tested as have Release versions. If you use a Beta, you may find
bugs or problems and you are expected to report them to Ross-Tech so
that we can fix them before making a new Release. Please be sure that you have also installed
the latest Release on
your computer as well so that you can revert back to using that if you
encounter problems with the Beta.
Beta 11.2 included the
following new features and improvements:
-
Communications with all control
modules in VW Crafter ("LT3") light trucks.
To access Crafter modules individually, click the new "LT3" tab on the Select Control Module screen:
-
Support for reading and clearing DTCs (fault codes) in all control modules in VW Crafter light trucks.
The ability to perform Adaptations in all control modules in VW Crafter light trucks.
This is particularly useful in order to be able to reset the Service Reminder Indicator.
To reset SRI in a Crafter, click the LT3 tab in the Select Control
Module Screen, then click [96 - Instruments] and you'll get to a
screen like this:
Now click [Adaptation] which will produce the usual UDS
Adaptation screen:
On this screen, click the down-arrow in drop-down box labeled "Channel"
and then select "Service interval extension - Reset Konstante".
The precise name of this channel may vary depending on exact
instrument cluster installed in the vehicle, but the correct channel
should not be hard to find:
Once you've selected the channel, the Stored value should be
four bytes of hexadecimal data. If the Service Reminder is ON,
these will usually (but not always) be "00 00 00 01".
To reset the Service Reminder, type in a New Value of "00 00 00 00",
and click [Do It!]. After that, you'll have to confirm
that you really want to do this:
We strongly urge customers not to to alter Adaptation channels
unless they understand the contents of a particular channel.
Improved CAN TP2.0 Retry Scheme for more reliable communications.
-
Fixes for
module-mapping hang-ups in some late-model
radios.
Support for new VW control module addresses.
New version 1.84 firmware for HEX+CAN interfaces
restores VAG-Saver functionality even when "Boot in intelligent Mode" is active.
Enhanced Subsystem ID info in Auto-Scan.
Updated CODES.DAT file now with over 16,000 codes.
Beta 11.3
added
these additional improvements:
New, more universal Airbag Coding
Assistant. Works with the latest airbags which use
Index-Based coding and provides tips where to find the Index.
New "Upload Debug/Log File" function in Applications Dialog
to make it easier for users to send data needed to answer their support queries.
Increased size of Auto-Scan logs which can be saved.
We've had reports of cars with so many faults in various control modules that the old limit was
reached which resulted in incomplete logs.
Many other small fixes and
enhancements
not worth mentioning individually here.
Beta 11.8
added
these additional improvements:
Completely revised and expanded ROD (ODX) Data.
Including coverage for all the latest models of cars such as the new
4G-chassis Audi A6. The structure of our ROD data has
also been revised to eliminate much redundancy and keep the installer
size reasonable.
Support for new UDS addresses
required for compatibility with new systems found in latest car models.
Auto-Scans now show sub-system label file names.
EDC15-16 Mileage reading now includes support for some
EDC15 V6 TDI ECUs.
Revised and expanded Label Files
More than 350 new or revised files since the last dataset.
New USB Drivers.
Now compatible with the latest PCs which use Fresco Logic USB3
chipsets.
Beta 11.10
includes
these additional improvements:
Re-factored DTC routines which interpret DTC data.
Separated routines by protocol; enhanced interpretation of status byte for DTCs in UDS modules.
Added check-box to disable the "Aggressive" fault reading mode we have always
used under UDS because it was frustrating to some dealer techs that VCDS showed more
DTCs than the factory tool.
Added an area to display additional info for Basic Settings.
The data to be displayed in this area comes from the Label files and it may take some time
before tips are included for most Basic Settings groups.
Added data types 0B, 0D, 0F to
Generic OBD-II Mode 9.
Fixed some bugs in the display of certain high-numbered, rarely used PIDs.
Enhanced ROD (ODX) Data. Includes
coverage for additional new control modules.
Revised and expanded Label Files.
More than 75 new or revised files since the last dataset.
New version of LCode.
Thanks to Niels in Denmark!.
Numerous other small improvements and fixes;
too many to list here individually.
Release Notes:
-
Works only with Intelligent Interfaces (HEX,
KEY and Micro-CAN).
-
Default installation location is
C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS-Beta\. If allowed to install to its default
location, it will not overwrite or interfere with the use of Release
10.6.
-
For VW Crafter "LT3" control modules,
this version supports the following functions: Control Module ID and Advanced
ID, Fault Codes (Read and Clear), Supported Codes, Security Access,
and Adaptation. Other functions such as Measuring Values, Output Tests,
and Basic
Settings will be added in future versions. Most Crafter
modules require a
module-specific "data dictionary" file. If a data dictionary file is not available
for a specific control module, VCDS will show an obvious error
message, in which case you should contact
Support@Ross-Tech.com.
