Important
Note: Beta versions
contain new features and functions that have not yet been as fully
tested as have Release versions. If you use a Beta, you may find
bugs or problems and you are expected to report them to Ross-Tech so
that we can fix them before making a new Release. Please be sure that you have also installed
the latest Release on
your computer as well so that you can revert back to using that if you
encounter problems with the Beta.
Beta 14.2 includes the
following improvements:
-
Revised and expanded ODX/ASAM Data.
Includes support for latest modules in the most recent cars.
-
Support for
HEX-NET interfaces.
Both
via USB and wirelessly, via WiFi.
-
Compatibility enhancements.
- Shows mileage in Auto-Scans on cars using UDS instrument clusters
- Shows realistic dates in freeze-frame data even on cars that don't know the actual date.
Beta 14.4 includes the
following improvements:
-
New option to manually enter an IP address.
This isn't essential, but can be helpful in an environment with
multiple HEX-NET interfaces used by different people, where it
makes things noticeably faster by not having to pick an HEX-NET
from a list of those available on the network.
-
Numerous stability improvements and bug fixes for HEX-NET interfaces.
At least in USB and WiFi/AP mode, we're getting pretty close to saying
this now works as well as a HEX-USB+CAN.
-
Latest Data Version with a number of new and enhanced Label Files.
-
More details in this thread in our forum.
Beta 14.8 includes the
following improvements:
-
New ODX data version.
Support for latest car models
-
Substantially improved WiFi interface detection.
Thanks to J Young for his input!
-
Displays IP address when connected via USB
if HEX-NET is connected to a netork in infrastructure mode.
-
Displays version of firmware in HEX-NET's WiFi module
along with improved formatting of interface info.
-
Improved recovery in cases of HEX-NET disconnection
-
Improved handling of very large UDS data blocks with HEX-NET interface
-
Includes and requires version 1.93 firmware for older HEX+CAN interfaces
which fixes an interface crash introduced in the previous version on some K-line modules
(primarily on B7 A4s)
-
Fix a hang that sometimes ocurred while querying freeze frame data
due to HEX-NET being too fast for timers in VCDS.
-
Replaced "N/A" in multi-result OBD2 formulas with "---"
greatly improving readibility
-
UDS adaptation now handles single and multi byte hex values
that are part of a larger block
Beta 14.9 includes the
following improvements:
-
Fewer restrictions on 10-VIN HEX-NET interfaces.
Allows considerably more functionality on 10-VIN HEX-NET
interfaces (for example complete Auto-Scans) without counting
the VIN of the car as one of the 10 allowed.
-
Usage counters for most interfaces.
Showing how many times fault codes were cleared, adaptations were performed,
and codings were changed.
-
Improved handling of control modules having invalid WSC or Equipment Numbers.
Those fields become editable by default.
-
Several small fixes aimed at reducing confusion.
-
New HEX-NET Configuration Utility able to update the interface.
Release Notes:
-
Works only with Ross-Tech's Intelligent Interfaces
-
Default installation location is C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS-Beta\
If allowed to install to its default location, it will not overwrite
or interfere with the use of Release 12.12.
However, due to
new HEX+CAN firmware, release 12.12.3 is required for
compatibility.
-
Works on Windows XP and newer, including Windows 8.1
Either 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows are fully supported.
It might still work on Windows 2000 as well, but given that it's
2014 now, we haven't tested it on anything older than XP and
consider any older Windows version to be "unsupported."
