Important Notes:
Beta versions contain new features and functions that have not yet been as fully tested as have Release versions.
If you use a Beta, you may find bugs or problems and you are expected to report them to Ross-Tech so that we can
fix them before making a new Release.
Beta 24.8.0 included the following improvements:
All new ROD data build
... DS358.0
Automatically tries a new "Restricted" mode
... on 2024+ cars with Gateways that implement a diagnostic filter per UNECE ("SFD2"),
this allows Auto-Scans, Measuring Value and Adaptation Maps, and perhaps some other
functions as well without disabling the Diagnostic Filter in the Gateway first.
You can see when VCDS is using "Restricted" mode when the Protocol displayed in the upper left of
the Open Controller screen shows "UDS-R" instead of just "UDS".
A "-R" will also be appended to the VCID field in an Auto-Scan, for example:
VCID: 005E5AFB2A8772DA637-8054-R
We've tested this on a few cars that need it, however we can't guarantee it will work on all of them, and we eagerly await feedback from customers.
A number of other behind-the-scenes improvements

Correctly use the Workshop ID for Adaptation in UDS Adaptation

Release Notes:
Beta 24.9 works only with Ross-Tech's current
HEX-NET and HEX-V2 interfaces.
It will not work with any of our older, legacy interfaces.
Support for legacy interfaces will be included again in the next Release version.
HEX-NET and HEX-V2 interfaces must be set to the Beta channel using VCIConfig.
CB v0.4656 or higher is required to use this version of VCDS.
Beta channel for your interface can be selected on the Advanced tab in VCIConfig.
Updating your interface should not affect compatibility with previous versions of VCDS.
Default installation location is C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS-Beta\
If allowed to install to its default location, it will not overwrite or interfere with the use of the current Release version.
Works on Windows 7 and newer, including Windows 11.
32-bit or 64-bit and ARM-64 versions of Windows are fully supported.
It might still work on XP as well, but we no longer consider any version of Windows older than 7 to be "supported."
